Tourwix: learning on a travel booking platform
Overview
Tourwix was my first professional programming job. I worked on a travel platform for airport transfers, tours, hotels, flights, and related services. The work covered the public website, an agent panel, and staff administration tools.
I was learning web development while making changes to a running business. That meant working on booking forms, data, third-party integrations, and support needs together.
Constraints
A transfer needs pickup points and a vehicle. A tour needs an itinerary and availability. The website needed to show the fields relevant to each booking.
Implementation
I built responsive layouts and revised navigation, galleries, and booking forms for smaller screens.
Results
- Customers, agents, and staff had separate interfaces for their booking work.
- Responsive pages supported travel searches and bookings on smaller screens.
- Review moderation and publishing tools became part of the staff workflow.
- Transfer quotes used route information and vehicle choices.
What mattered
This project taught me to follow a feature beyond its public page. A booking also needs an agent to maintain the service and a staff member to resolve problems. That shaped how I approached later products.
